Brown Bread
(Belle Sherwood)

1 cup bread flour (not sifted) (or all purpose)
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
3 tsp white sugar
(heaping)
1 tsp salt
Sift together and add:
2 cups Ogilvies whole wheat flour
Knead a little after buttermilk is added. Mix together well and add:
1 1/2 cups butter milk or sour milk
Bake in a loaf pan 300° 1/2 hour.
