Quick Fruit Bread

1 or 2 eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup milk
3 tbls melted butter or shortening
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup seedless raisins
1/2 cup chopped cherries (optional)
1/2 cup chopped peel (optional)

To beaten eggs, add sugar. Beat together. Add milk and melted shortening. Mix and sift dry ingredients. Add fruit then mix ? enough to blend well. Pour into well greased and floured loaf pan. 350º 50 to 60 minutes.
