Oatmeal Drops

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup lard
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour milk
2 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup seeded raisins

Mix and sift dry ingredients. Crumble the oatmeal with the fingers. Add to fry ingredients with the raisins. Cream shortening thoroughly. Gradually add sugar and beat well. Add eggs well beaten. Add dry mixture alternately with milk, using more or less milk needed to make a drop batter. Drop from tip of teaspoon on to greased baking sheet and bake in a moderate oven 350 F. for about 10 minutes.
